I've just come back from a 8-days trekking trip in the Atlas reaching the Northern Africa summit, the Toubkal (4167m), with also 2 days in Marrakech.
Those are the Tanners in Marrakech I took at sunset. They're working goat skins, which appear in blue as they have initially plunged them into lime. After this step they will leave them for a while in pigeon excrements before drying them.
I have to say the smell was not so pleasant but it was very worth to witness this ancestral technique.
If you'd like to see my pictures of the Atlas I'll post in the following days/weeks, follow my Facebook page at <a href="www.facebook.com/mattei.photography>www.facebook.com/mattei.photography</a>
