I was up before sunrise working on my computer and noticed a purple glow coming through my window. I woke Big Red up and we jumped in the car. I headed straight for the parking garage because I knew it offered a nice composition to the Northeast. In fact, this photo was taken from the exact same ten story ledge as this previous night version. I felt a little safer this time because I had my huge and heavy tripod in between me and the edge (as opposed to my normal sized tripod).
This is a four exposure HDR. If I would have arrived 30 minutes earlier I probably could have been able to get a nice single exposure, but by the time I got there the sky was already much too bright. My big and heavy tripod did well in the gusty winds on top of the garage.
