Among all the special places in our lives, most of us have one larger place, our hometowns. People relate to their hometowns in different ways. Some grew up in only one place, some moved around and never experienced the connections you make when people know you from being a baby to an adult.

Some people never leave their towns, or maybe move one or two towns over. Others can’t wait to get out. Some come back to visit often, some now and then, and some never do. I am a mix of these. I grew up in one town, left for college, came back for a short time, left to travel, came back here and there for a few years, left again and came back to visit family a few times a year.

When I visited, I always took photos of places that meant something to me as a child or as an adult. I am lucky that I grew up in a wonderful little town in Rhode Island, Bristol. It’s very pretty, has lots of water around (being a peninsula), and lots of history - my house was built in 1803

I have posted other images from this place on 500px. This image is from my last trip there. It is looking over Bristol Harbor, so I know there is water out there, very close to me.
