Havasu Stream is an amazingly beautiful tributary of the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. I first visited in the early 1980s and have been back many times over the years. This picture was taken a few years ago after the canyon had suffered a huge flash flood that caused tremendous damage to campground and to the Indian village above. The uprooted trees and debris in the stream will eventually be covered with travertine deposits and become new terraces in the cascading waterfalls.
