This was taken on an absolutely gorgeous night on the edge of Resurrection Bay in Seward, Alaska. After a long drive, we made it to Seward at the peak of sunset! It was spectacular. But, I was most excited about what happened after sunset. The sun went down, blue hour set in (which given the sunset times in Alaska, was just after midnight) and the clouds started drifting over the final glow of the day. My tent was set up not more than 50 yrds from the spot I took this photo, and I knew I'd have a sunrise within only a few hours. There are very few things in this world that move me to my core like standing somewhere breathtaking (with my camera) and realizing how everything has come together to build to that one subtle but spectacular moment.
