There is a bit of a story with this image. I was on a quest to photograph Route 66 from Santa Monica, California all the way to Chicago, Illinois. I think I made this image on the return trip, also on Route 66. The authentic Route 66 sign was borrowed from an interesting artist named Robert Waldmire who at that time had set up a Route 66 museum in Arizona. The T-Bird was borrowed from a very nice man in Kingman, Arizona. His name is Scott Dunton. He restores fine old automobiles and sells some of them in his showroom there. The image was made with a Fuji G617 camera.
