I don't share photos from outside of Juneau very often. Partly it's because I find I'm much more successful with a subject when I have the opportunity to get to know it. It also doesn't hurt to have chances for cleaning up technical mistakes or fine tuning compositions over multiple visits.

On the other hand, sometimes everything just comes together before your eyes and the only important thing is knowing how to use your eyes in the first place. In the Yosemite Valley, it seemed like there should have been a crowd of people and photographers taking in this view, but fortunately for me, I was alone on the side of the road where I had abruptly pulled over.
