This image is part of a series of images I took at the Laguna de los Tres. The most noticeable peaks are Aguja Saint-Exupery (left) and Chaltén/Fitz Roy (middle). Fitz Roy or Chaltén (as the mountain was called by the Tehuelche) is one of the most remarkable peaks of the patagonian Andes.
I left Campamento Poincenot (the campground we were staying at) 2 hours before sunset to allow enough time for the steep and exhausting trail. It took me around 1 hour to get up there and I was dripping with sweat when I arrived. After a short chat with 2 canadians who had decided to camp at the laguna I descended to the shore and set up my tripod. The sky looked promising and within a few minutes the small clouds hovering above the peak turned orange. I decided to go for longer exposure times and used my ND filter to make the clouds look fire-like.
