A clear night followed by a clear sunrise was my own opportunity to capture Cerro Torre. We were freezing and had no more food left, so we had no other chance than to return to El Chaltén. I would have loved to stay another night to give it another shot. But not only would I have loved to take more pictures of Cerro Torre, I would have loved just to stay in the area. I'm not a climber at all but standing at the shore of Laguna Torre, below Cerro Torre's 1000m wall of granite I started to feel some of the fascination that surrounds this spectacular peak.
Since there weren't any clouds, I was happy that the full moon hadn't set by the time of the sunrise. The much I had cursed it during the night (I had no chance of taking proper startrails), the much I was happy it was still there in the morning.
