Taken last year during the NCUPS monterey shootout, I recently was going back through my older files and realized I had never worked on this one. During the summer months the Monterey Bay's waters have algal blooms, which in turn brings in loads upon loads of sea nettles (jellyfish). this also turns the normally blue water into pea green soup, and can make it feel like you're on another planet when you go diving during these times.

the things in the foreground are metridium anemones, which is what the dive site is named after: the metridium fields.
