Nato Protest Chicago May 2012

I never seen so many riot police in one location before in my life. Their presence was overwhelming. I saw this girl taking video from a ground level vantage point. For some reason it made me stare at the ground and notice this. The silhouettes were as powerful as seeing the actual individuals casting the shadows. I walked the entire protest march route from Grant Park (about 2.2 miles) not even thinking about the 35 pound backpack with all my equipment, snapping countless photos along the way. But when the march came to its end is when I was glad to sit down, take off my pack off and reflect on the long 'L' train ride back home. It was an powerfully intense experience that I will never forget.
