It was not an easy thing accommodating the new arrivals – all three billion of them. Proponents of doing so were quick to point out their diminutive size, and complete segregation was casually mentioned by a few and, fortunately, argued for by fewer still. So in the end, most voted for an integrated planet. It wasn't easy for the older people, but for those, like myself, born after the arrival and integration…well, it's all we've ever known. The way I see it, the others lost so much more when they lost their world than we have lost by sharing this one.
