OK, for anyone who likes to know at least a little about the subject they're looking at and hasn't yet seen any of the others in this series: This little character is a male White-Cheeked Gibbon – a species of ape, NOT monkey! …... hey, I'll be testing you on this later, so make sure you pay attention – LOL ;^p – born at Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi Province, Thailand on 5th November 2011, which makes him ...… anyone? You Sir, at the back … yes! 10 months and a few days, well done … you can take your seat again, thank you :^)
As for those of you who have been following my posts showing this young one's growth and development, or at least those of you who've been paying attention, you'll notice that the fur of this little guy has become gradually darker, especially if you compare the last photo I uploaded of him, which was taken a couple of months ago, to this one here, which I captured last Sunday.
This darkening of fur colour only happens with the male of the species, and the process will carry on for a few more months at least, until all it's fur in jet black, with the exception of a band of completely white hair running down each side of its face from the ears to the chin; hence the name White-Cheeked Gibbon!
Alright, that's it for now, though don't forget to bring your notebooks again next time you visit, as there will be more to follow in a few days time ;^)
Wishing you all a continued wonderful weekend :^)
