Last summer, after a whirlwind tour of a handful of national parks in Colorado and Utah, my daughter asked if there were any national parks in Michigan. I told her that indeed there are and resolved to take her to one this summer. So, after our time in Idaho and Montana, and about a week or so to regroup and readjust to Eastern time, we once again packed up the tent and sleeping bags and headed north to Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, one of Michigan's many natural treasures. It's so beautiful there, truly one of the most beautiful places in the country, we had a fantastic time hanging out at Lake Michigan and playing on the sand dunes. Even a fair amount of rain didn't slow us down too much.
