I was talking with a couple of guys at work yesterday about what a rush it was to stand so close to the edge at Toroweap. I literally got goosebumps as I recounted taking the first tentative steps out onto that ledge. It was weird -- real weird.

And when I see this image, it really drives home the immense beauty and grandeur of the Grand Canyon, as corny and cliche as that may be. If I would have been about 50 pounds lighter, the huge gusts of wind that were blowing that day might have been a little more harrowing.

As it was, every time I felt one, I was glad I had the camera strap around my neck, because I could have imagined my tripod and camera being blown over the edge very easily. Me, on the other hand, not so much.
