A fun image of a snowy owl taken in the wild. I first saw the owl fly and land just over a ridge. Trying to be stealthy, difficult in snow shoes and carrying a 600mm lens, I kept low and got closer. Suddenly the owl popped it's head up, I put mine down. When I popped mine up it put its down. It was like a comedy routine! Eventually I managed to time this shot and get something quite different and with a good feeling of space.
I would not have got this either without the help of a very special friend, you know who you are, who's expertise on the owls is legendary. Too many photographers I think these days do not acknowledge those that help them. We all need a little help sometimes!
