This is actually an image I posted up here some time ago, but wanting to show support to Kujaja for the “Doing Something Together” project and Mark's suggested theme of “Reflections”, seeing as this is the only suitable image I have in my portfolio it's really the only contribution I can make to this one!

The subject is a juvenile Bornean Saltwater Crocodile we came across while drifting silently along tributaries of the Kinabatangan River in Sabah, the northern-most province of Malaysian Borneo.

The Crocodile you see here was sunning itself on a fallen tree partially submerged by the river.

Unfortunately by the time we noticed it, this relatively small juvenile was already filling most of my frame, and before we could back our little boat up for me to compose a better shot it slipped silently into the murky water.

Then, like when you feel disappointed for the loss of good light as a cloud covers the sun, only to feel joy suddenly return when light breaks through again, up popped the young Croc's head and, only metres from where we were, he chose to stay a while and keep a curious eye on us!

Looking forward to seeing other reflections posted up today, meantime, wishing you all a beautiful Friday ahead :^)
