More from our garden!
In Greek mythology, Hēbē is the goddess of youth (Roman equivalent: Juventas).
She is the daughter of Zeus and Hera. Hebe was the cupbearer for the gods and goddesses of Mount Olympus, serving their nectar and ambrosia, until she was married to Herakles (Roman equivalent: Hercules).
This HEBE here is a genus of plants native to New Zealand.
Hebes are grown in many gardens and public areas; they attract butterflies.
They come in various colours but white is my fave.
Easy to grow and maintain it is a popular plant/shrub in many gardens. The colours of Hebe flowers range from white through pink, blue, lilac and purple to bright crimsons.
