Carbonatite Lava Flows from a Hornito in the Crater of Oldoinyo Lengai Volcano, Tanzania

July 2004 - Nighttime eruption of natrocarbonatite lava flows from hornito at Oldoinyo Lengai volcano, Tanzania, Africa.
These features are no longer visible as they were destroyed by a large eruption since then. Lengai is the only volcano to erupt this kind of lavas in historical times.

Note: as night image with wide open aperture is quite soft so not suitable for large poster print unless goes on canvas.
