There are only so many words you can use to describe a scene that takes your breath away. Epic, incredible, mind-blowing, astonishing...this was all of those and then some more that I don't have the vocabulary for. The mammatus display after a passing line of thunderstorms erupted just after the sun set and took on other-worldly shapes and colors. This image was taken looking almost straight up, and if you can imagine almost 500 square miles of sky being filled with such a display. Just as far as you could see for 180 degrees. By far the most incredible display of mammatus clouds I've ever had the privilege of witnessing!
