Here's one of many shots I pulled off just before total darkness. Our luck didn't hold out for that evening, as the full moon was blocked out by the thick central coast fog we love to hate as photographers.

It's fun to experiment with different exposure times in a situation like this, and so much is left up to what cars will come around that corner. Luckily after watching it for more than an hour, you get to recognize traffic patterns a little. Tripping the shutter at the first sight of lights yields a capture of the 7-8 cars that follow, like ducks in a row.
