Strong winds and stormy tempestuous conditions lashed my car overnight. The gusts, coupled with the stark darkness of the night outside, made for an eerie experience -- at least I had the luxury of sleeping inside my car, and not out in the elements like on other occasions.

I'd been planning to shoot away from sunrise, down on Gibson's beach towards the crazy pillars that comprise the 12 Apostles. The sea spray down on the beach was just too much, and at last minute I'd decided to try for the lookout itself, shooting back towards sunrise -- at least it had stopped raining enough for me to not pull the pin completely and retreat!

Although I was not expecting any results from the morning, especially not having captured the shot I came for, I still managed to score this one. The 6x17 film camera also made an appearance and a roll of Velvia was sacrificed -- perhaps the black magic of film will render the somewhat crazy morning in a different light!

Hope you enjoy!
