A Great Egret patiently waits in the back bay of the Morro Bay Estuary for a passing morsel in the waters of a rapidly receding tide. Overdevelopment upstream and inland have caused the estuary to prematurely fill with silt threatening the natural habitat and rookeries for a variety of indigenous and migratory water fowl.
