Hanauma Bay is a lot different than the last time I visited nearly 13 years ago. The number of visitors is limited, access to the bay is restricted. To get into the area, you have to go through their visitor center and watch a 9 minute video on taking care when diving in the area. All these changes have resulted in a recovery of the bay's sealife and coral. By getting there early, it was pretty easy to get in and by limiting entry the beach is not crowded. Of course the skin diving was good but not great because the water was fairly rough that day.
