Dubai fog looks best when observed from the roofs of the tall skyscrapers. But on the 11 October 2012, we had a strange one; it kept hovering at the rooftops all morning and it refused to descend. It was very frustrating because it was impossible to photograph from high altitude. It was time to adjust strategy so instead of waiting for the fog to come below my camera, I went underneath it and to my delight, I ended up with this photograph. To be honest, I couldn't be happier, because it turned out to be something quite special.
tech talk: this is a duo-tone, monochromatic HDR, composed out of 9 exposures, 1EV apart. I used Canon TS-E 17mm lens on a 5D Mk 2. It took me at least 3 hours to process it with the look I wanted for this particular photograph. I hope it was worth it.
