The Arsenale of Venice (a kind of vast dockyard) is a huge industrial area within the historical downtown's borders. For a long times it was the emblem of the most important age of Venice. Besides, it was a perfect example of a sort of preindustrial system applied to the manufacture of boats. Over the centuries many buildings were radically restored and now several constructions are used as exhibition spaces, concerts and theatre works. Every years I like to visit all the pavillions of Biennale (art or architecture) installed inside these old buildings. This is a great chance to visit this intriguing area of my town, meeting nice people, and thinking about the new trends of contemporary arts and architectures. This is a great opportunity to take some shots, too, even if the light inside the pavillions is not so good at all.
