Sadly this Bald Eagle fell out of her nest when she was very young. She somehow survived and at 4 months old was found wondering the shores near Thunder Bay, Ontario by some caring individuals. She was taken to a vets where they found that her wing had healed incorrectly and she would never fly again. She is named Pawgwashijng Migizi ("Pawgwa", for short-- her full name is Ojibway and translates to "Bald Eagle of the Shallow Water") She now lives at Mountsberg Conservation Area where she is taken care of and she in turn helps educate the public.
I met her on a Ray Barlow workshop where we had the pleasure of photographing her. She is beautiful and at 3 years old her head isn't fully white as it will be in a couple of years as an adult.
