It was raining and the day light was quickly dimming when we arrive at the Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park on the southwest coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. I couldn’t image getting good photographs under these adverse conditions. However, when we hiked out to the shore, the sun began to burn through the clouds at the horizon. I sprinted back to the parking lot and grabbed my photographic gear and snapped this shot before I lost the sun.
A few days earlier, we went snorkeling from a boat in the bay to the right, where we saw lots of beautiful tropical fish, great formations of coral and Hawaiian spinner dolphins. What an amazing place!
