Decided to hit up Hospitals Reef again but this time I was forcing myself to shoot only with my Samyang/Rokinon 14mm prime. There were cirrus clouds all day so I had a hunch the sunset would be pretty good. The light was very harsh so I went to set up some compositions for when the right time came. Things finally started to look nice and I went to shoot more potholes trying to improve on my last shot. I look up after about 15 minutes and the sky is still nice so I try some other things for kicks. Another 10 minutes pass and I look up. Sky is still good and strange things are going on. It turns super pink and what I thought was just a sun ray turns into this cool looking sun pillar. Never seen anything like this before and I'm fresh out of comps. I run around and see this pool which I've seen many times, tried to shoot may times, failed many times, but today was different. The tide was right, the light was great, and I had the wide angle. If you look closely you can see sand and algae in the pool of water.
