I had one sheet of Provia 100F left when Brooklyn Bridge Park began to close down just after sunset. I wanted to make a long exposure with the East River and when I saw the "V" created by the pilings I knew that was it. I quickly framed in the clouds with the southern tip of Manhattan to contrast the sharp lines of the sky-scrapers and pilings. Without 49mm neutral density filters I had no choice but to stop down to f/64 and settle for a 40 second exposure. Lightroom 4 allowed me to brighten up the buildings and soften the water a bit more to my liking. I look forward to hanging a nice big old print of this in the near future!
