Yesterday met up with fellow Flickr buddy and photographer Daniel Borg for some photography on the tube. Dans a top guy and great photographer, its was awesome to talk photography and about London and its Underground :-). Anyway, we decided to visit some stations that are less well photographed and stations that neither me or Dan had been before. First on that list was Southgate underground station on the Piccadilly Line.
All I can say is what a stunning station. It is very well kept and well presented in an Art Deco style architecture. We took a few images at the bottom of the stairs and then went up this stunning staircase and escalators. I took this image but it did prove a little hard to line up and there is some small minor imperfections that I am not quite happy about but all in all its came out quite well :-).
We were up here near the ticket hall for about one minute or so and then a member of staff came out and told us that we are not allowed to take images in the station. We talked with him and explained that its for a hobby etc and after a little persuasion he allowed us to stay for a little while longer whilst we got the images we wanted of this stunning station, top marks to the guy! :-).
I will hopefully upload more of the images from mine and Daniel Borg photowalk around London in the next few days as I am sure Dan will also.
As per always I always welcome your constructive feedback :-).
