Another upload from mine and Daniel Borg's photo walk around London and I thought I would treat you with a colour upload today. This is one station on from yesterdays upload at Southgate underground station to Bounds Green Underground Station and I just wanted to show you how different the escalators and stairways are here.
Its is by far alot more modern in appearance however Dan and I suspected that at one point in its life it was very similar to that of Southgate station as at the bottom of the stairs it is very similar to Southgate station and so is the ticket hall, not sure why they would change the escalator part but it still makes a great photo :-).
I originally post processed this in HDR but it just didn't work I feel so reverted back to the original image and post processed that and so glad I did, it came out alot better than I thought. I wanted to add a little cold feel to this image to keep the feel of modernism with this station. I found this very difficult to line up with all the converging lines but eventually got this one which I was happy with, it only needed very little straightening. Oh one thing that Dan pointed out is that it is nice that all the lights are working, at least I am not the only one it annoys when trying to take an image that there are some lights out which ruins the balance of the image. Another part of this image that I backtracked on was the bottom part of the uplighter at the bottom of the escalator. I was originally going to crop that out but chose not to as I felt it kept the originality of the image however you may not agree with me on this?
Anyway, I hope you have a cracking Friday and weekend.
