It snowed on and off from Tuesday afternoon through the night, and it was still snowing at 6.30 so we had a lie-in. After breakfast we ventured up onto Rannoch Moor but snow was settling again on salted slush (well below zero) and the big lorries were intimidating on the narrow road. So we headed SW for a recce at Castle Stalker and Port Appin (very nice), then back onto the moor for a wander up by the river, east of Kingshouse.

We were looking for new angles on the Buachaiile, but it was veiled in cloud. The frozen snow gave good walking though, and pleasant pastel colours on the track, but there was little light. Then the snow clouds began to clear and a pale gold colour developed towards Glen Etive, reflected in the river. Not much detail in this shot but I liked the atmosphere.
