If you explore the narrows of Dedeckera Canyon, you will find this vista point just off the beaten path of the monsterous Eureka Dunes as you emerge into Eureka Valley. Certainly, by a large margin, these are the most massive piles of sand I have ever seen. Here you can see the more gentile southern slope rise up to their 700 foot tall summits. The whole eastern end of these unique and beutiful dunes seems to be made up of a single massive dune. This gentile southern slope gives way to much more steep northern reaches, suggesting that the winds must come out of the south.
