I found this image in a very ominously titled folder called "Lost and Abandoned .PSD Files" on my hard drive as I was searching for something entirely different. Isn't that how it always goes? You are trying to do one thing, but then creativity creeps in and you have no choice but to listen to the little devilish voice in your head telling you to stop and create. Well, when you are a photographer and you come across the words "lost" and "abandoned", there is nothing to do but to open it up and see what is inside. I thought I might find nothing of value since they were, after all, tucked away in a lonesome folder miles away from file civilization. But I was surprised to find several images I found to be worthy of taking another stab at, this being one of them.
I created this along with this other image of mine almost exactly one year ago at the Salton Sea and Sand Dunes. The experience was abstractly beautiful, being completely alone in the desert, free to do as I pleased. I think I will go back soon, since that experience should surely be had once a year :-)
My next announcement will be about new workshops, coming to Los Angeles, Dallas and NYC...I cannot wait, I am bursting about it :-D
