This is one of a series of four Japanese macaque shots that won me the title Nature Photographer Of The Year at the 2011 International Photography Awards. Two of the other shots that are part of this series I already posted here earlier and they're called 'Bliss' and 'Macaca fuscata'. I used a radio controlled remote off-camera flash to create the light, which is very common in macro and model photography, but not in wildlife photography. These animals have been photographed many times and I'm happy that I have managed to create something truly unique of this species. I'm still in the running to win the overall title of International Photographer Of The Year and win the 10,000 USD prize, so wish me luck. :-)
