This is a sunset shot at Cracker Lake in Glacier National Park. A buddy and I made the 6 mile trek out to this stunning lake, It’s incredible turquois color is due to the glacial flour from what remains of a glacier which is now more like hard packed snow. The setting of this lake is just stunning as it is nestled in a huge glacial cirque surrounded by a 4000’ wall and Mount Siyeh which stand at around 10,000’.
We got off to a late start as a couple had decided to cancel their overnight trip and it freed up two permits which we happily snapped up. By the time we arrived the clock was ticking and we were scrambling to find a composition before we lost the light. This was my take, hope you like it.
