Headed out to a small pond where I knew (hoped) I'd have a good chance to photograph some Gadwall that have been spending the past few weeks hanging out. My last trip a couple of weeks back was fruitless as they were nowhere to be found so I was chuffed when upon my arrival today I see 3 floating around but keeping a distance... I managed a few shots of them but the light was not working for me at all and I could not get low enough most of the time.
Best shot from my short session was of this Goosander. Tricky light but the D800 handled things well. The out of focus white patch is a Black-headed Gulls reflection on the ice that was still lingering on the pond from the recent cold snap.
