I played around quite a bit with this one post-capture. I tried my hand at setting the tone curve manually in LR 4, with five different inflection points along the line. I left the contrast control virtually untouched. I also played around with "split toning"; in LR4 that's setting the highlight and shadow tones manually (along with their saturation levels). I set the highlights to a pinkish/purple and the shadows to a forest-y green, and kept the levels pretty low (I still favor a very natural look in the finished product).
