Shot from the Apple Store end of the Main Concourse of Grand Central Terminal.

The incredible ceiliing, orignally conveived in 1912 by architect Whitney Warren and his friend, French Portrait artist Paul César Helleu, depicts the night sky complete with decorative representations of the 12 Astrological signs. In fact, the constellations are depicted backwards (that is, the ceiling is a mirror image of the actual sky) - apparently in error, although the Vanderbilt family maintained that the ceiling reflected Gods view of the sky.

For lack of a wider lens, this had to be shot as a pano composed of three vertical shots. As I could not use a tripod (and I had left the Gorillapod in my hotel), I removed the ball-head and held it steady against the stone bannister of the staircase.
