Singapore Flyer & Marina Waterfront (新加坡摩天观景轮 / 滨海湾)

Drop by my Facebook Page www.facebook.com/yewyuee for the latest. Due to heavy time constraints, I’ve minimised all activities here but should you be interested, I’ve relegated most photographs to my Sets. I am currently refining my passion in the invisible spectrum (UV-VIS-NIR) while at the same time exploring the basics and challenge of wide-field astrophotography with a DSLR in a light polluted city.

Have a great life ahead!

For those who celebrate. I wish you a Blessed Christmas. For the rest, have a great holiday.
Warm regards.

[the boring bits] This photograph was taken from Marina Barrage while awaiting the year-end countdown to 2011. A medium telephoto focal length was chosen to frame the colourful set with just the right number of buildings to give this a balance composition while at the same time giving emphasis to the Singapore Flyer.

I cannot emphasis the word composition enough. The Singapore Flyer was placed slightly to the right of centre and balanced with some of the party boats to the left foreground. The horizon was placed low to emphasis the subject(s) of this scene. A shutter speed of 5 seconds (the main denominator) was just the right amount in producing a very slight motion blur on the observation wheel while at the same time render sufficient colourful reflections on the Marina Bay (water).
