Taken on christmas day of a ginger bread house my family made. I shot it at 200mm to get a shallow DoF from the tree and also a 5 second exposure for two reason: firstly to get enough light into the lens at ISO 100 and also to give me time to move to the tree and flash my flash gun through the tree to cause the shadows on the back wall. Inside the house are 2 bike lights to create the effect of a raging fire inside.
In post i added orange in the white balance and blue to the highlight/shadows. I dropped the exposure by 1.5 stops and aded a 2 stop gradient filter on the left hand side to add more light from the tree; also a gradient filter of 0.5 added to the right side to bring out some detail on the roof. The green hue was dropped by 25% to darken the greens and finally contrast, saturation and vibrance were all raised.
