Long's Peak from a different angle than most see, this photo was taken on top of Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park, close to the quaint little mountain town of Estes Park, Colorado. On the last day that this treacherous road was open, my family and I took a gamble to see if the weather would hold up long enough to get some good shots. Well, our gamble paid off. Ascending carefully along the hairpin turns (sans guardrails) we broke through the epic cloud you see above. In a matter of moments, our dark and dreary day turned into a beautifully sunny one above an ocean of white, fluffy clouds.
