I saw this man breaking the rules. He was walking towards the edge of the ridge on the fragile tundra landscape, as if something was pulling him magnetically forward. Inside I understood why he broke the rules because I was feeling the same magnetic pull. I mean, look at the view before you. But something else inside of me kept me where I was; on the side of the road. I watched him go right to the edge with his camera, confident that those few steps forward were going to grant him the perfect shot of the vista ahead. I quietly waited behind him. He had no idea that he was my subject. The majestic mountain floating in a sea of clouds was just a convenient backdrop.
