This photo was from my first visit to the Eureka Dunes in Death Valley last year.

Apparently, despite having the (now official) hottest recorded temperature on Earth, there are parts of Death Valley that get cold, it was about 20 degrees F overnight and I got pretty cold but was rewarded with nice light.

I was back at this location last month and it (and other parts of the playa) have completely changed, much of it eroded, due to recent heavy rains.
