First attempt at shooting very long exposure at night... We drove all day that day, and wanted to reach the Devil Marbles campsite for the night, without really knowing what to expect. We finally made it and after a light dinner and a few bacardi-coke, once the local dingos went away, and once the full moon rose up high enough, I decided to explore our surroundings... the light from the moon was directly lighting up these red rocks and I decided to make these my subject. All I had was a small travel tripod, those ones where the feet can be oriented in all directions... not ideal for very long exposure, but better than nothing! I quite like the contrast between the dark blue sky, the red rock, and the white gumtrees...
