I was so unhinged by the events that had taken place in Florida surrounding the killing of Trayvon Martin, that I had to do something and show my solidarity through my photography. I can relate completely with the entire story. Growing up in Philly, having experienced being racially profiled because the color of my beautiful skin, and having also experienced the sting of racism first hand, I can only imagine the fear that gripped Trayvon Martin during that night when he was murdered by George Zimmerman. There are Trayvon Martin's every single day in America. Sadly, most of the events like this senseless killing never make it beyond the neighborhood in which they occur. What wold you do if you were walking down a public street at night in the rain and noticed a stranger following you? I patiently wait for justice and hope that George Zimmerman will have his day in court and be tried for his crimes amongst a jury of his peers.
