Before World War II many Germans lived in the area of Vojvodina in Serbia. Although they came from everywhere they are - until today - called "Schwabi". After war was over and the communists under Marshal Tito seized power, many of them were expelled and frightened away because they were accused of being fascists. Their mansions however "survived" and can be found at many places, some in good shape, some ruinous.
