This is an abstract close-up of a fall leaf sitting atop an all-natural pool of plant oils with natural color reflecting off of them. Plant oil (and any oil for that matter) is a fascinating subject for color and light and one can find small pools of it naturally occurring with some abundance in the bottoms of the deep, narrow canyonlands of the Southwest. This was photographed on a backpacking trip with a friend through the Escalante. I used a selective focus to highlight the leaf slightly.
The title is a subtle reference to the world that often goes unnoticed to us.
