Padaung woman, in the traditional costume, works at the loom. Padaung are a subgroup of the Karen people, one of the Burmese minorities. Some women still preserve the unhealthy habit to put brass coils around their neck. They are popular as 'Giraffe Women'. Anthropologists debate on the original meaning of the habit, nowadays it is mainly to pose for tourists in order to earn easy money.
